Last week, Teresa Vittucci was supposed to follow an invitation to “UND JETZT?” Festival at EinTanzHaus Mannheim.
Unfortunately due to the persistent COVID-regulations we had to postponed the presentation of HATE ME, TENDER to autumn 2021 – stay tuned for final dates!
In the meantime, EinTanzHaus and “UND JETZT?” Festival decided to feature VIRGIN BLOOD (2020) in their mediathek for one week.
VIRGIN BLOOD a short movie, is the latest teaser for the stage play HATE ME, TENDER and a commissioned work produced for Impulse Festival and Instituto Svizzero Roma.
Same as the piece HATE ME, TENDER itself, it focuses on Vittucci’s research on hate and feminism. The protagonist is once again the Virgin Mary and with a gentle violence Vittucci begins to unravel the queer potential of a figure which is culturally seen as epitome of purity, innocence and perfection, icon of the compassionate woman and mourning mother.
